Ilchi Lee likes to use anecdotes and his personal stories a lot when he gives a lecture. One of his favorite objects is a lotus. Ilchi Lee used an example of lotus withdrawing without blossoming. A lotus is pretty. What makes a lotus even more beautiful than other flowers, is the fact that it blossoms in the middle of mud. A lotus has its root in mud. If the lotus got depressed by the filthy mud it was surrounded by and too discouraged to blossom, it would be going against the will of the Heavens. If it withdrew and died before blossoming, then the Nature, Universe will be very sad.
Ilchi Lee said this because the lotus story is actually a story of human life. We should know our potenial ability and talents that the Nature has given us and not frustrated by the circumstances at the moment. The mud and the lotus are both precious. I am very impressed by the sentence: It is when the body gives itself whole to the mud that a true lotus will blossom.
